Description

Bufflehead hen and drake; Lorne Smith, Lindsay, Ontario, circa 1950.

Hen with slightly turned head and raised wing tip carving.  Drake with relief wing and tail feather carving.  Pictured on page 89 of ‘Ontario Decoys’ by Bernie Gates.

CONDITION:  Hen in original paint with minor flaking and wear; excellent structurally; drake in a working second coat of paint with minor wear; tiny chip in tip of bill; chip in each raised wing tip.

Provenance:  Peter Brown collection to the benefit of DU Canada.
