Hollow carved black duck, Fred Croft, Belleville, Ontario, 1st quarter 20th century.
Hollow carved with ½” bottom board with ‘FC’ stamped four times in underside. Also stamped ‘JHL’. Scratch feather paint detail.
CONDITION: Thin coat of overpaint on the body was taken down to the original surface with scratch feather paint detail; paint on bill appears to be an early second coat; lightly hit by shot with a few of the holes filled, otherwise very good structurally.
