Description

Rare Canada goose, John Vickers, Cambridge, Maryland, 2nd quarter 20th century.

John Vickers is known for his swan decoys but geese by Vickers are very hard to find.  Long body with doweled head and glass eyes.  Measures 30" long.  A rigmate with professional bill repair sold lot 104, Guyette & Schmidt 2007 auction.

CONDITION:  Original paint with minor wear; in the making filled splits in body remain tight; minor separation at a knot in one side; dowel has lifted slightly in top of head; some small drips of black paint on back and one side; a ring around the neck appears to be where the line was wrapped tightly around neck and is free of any repairs.
