Description

Folky pair of goldeneyes from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, 2nd quarter 20th century.

Drake with head turned 35 degress and hen in preening pose.  Hen is pictured on page 60 of 'Decoys of Maritime Canada' by Dale and Gary guyette.  Measure 13" and 12" long.

CONDITION:  Appealing early in use repaint with minor flaking and wear; filled crack in drake's back; head is very slightly loose; tight cracks in hen's breast and back; glue and small amount of touch up at neck seat.

Provenance:  Peter Brown collection to the benefit of DU Canada.
