Description
Brant from the Eastern shore of Virginia, last quarter 19th century.
Carved raised shoulder and wing carving. Hole drilled in the underside for use as a stick-up or as a floater.
CONDITION: Old working repaint with significant flaking and wear; split in underside and drying cracks on body; head appears to be an early gunning replacement with a crack through neck and a small chip repair at neck seat.
