Description

Hollow blackduck similar to the work of George Warin, Toronto, Ontario, last quarter 19th century.

Thinly hollowed with 1/4“ bottom board.  Branded MILNE in the underside.  Exact decoy is pictured on pg. 131 of Decoying by Bernard Crandall and identified as a mallard hen by George Warin.

CONDITION:  Very early working repaint with minor to moderate flaking and wear, mostly on sides; lightly hit by shot; small chips and wear on tail; hairline cracks in breast and bottom board.
