Decorative common merganser, James West, Bordentown, New Jersey.

Thinly hollowed decorative carving with slightly turned head, reliefed carved wings, and detailed feather carving.  Excellent detail on head and bill.  Signed in pencil on the underside.  Measures 17 3/4" long.

CONDITION:  Excellent and original.
